Mon Chéri Ultra Fluid Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++ with Blue Light Protection (HEV)

This broad-spectrum SPF 50+ PA++++ lightweight facial and body sunscreen hydrates and protects skin from early signs of aging. Infused with grapeseed oil for anti-aging properties as well as advanced UVA/UVB protection technology and blue light protection High Energy Visible (HEV) Light, this sunscreen protects skin from harmful UV & blue rays.

While sunlight is essential for our health, excessive sunlight will damage the skin. Sunlight also contains blue light which penetrates deep into the skin, triggering oxidative stress and premature aging. Excessive blue light influences our circadian rhythm which affects our sleeping pattern.

PA refers to the Protection Grade of UVA rays, which is used to measure the SPF of a sunscreen. This Japanese measurement ranking which is now widely used, based on the Persistent Pigment Darkening (PPD) reaction reading at 2-4 hours of sun exposure. The protective grade of sunscreen is often leveled as PA+, PA++, PA+++, PA++++, hence, the more plus signs there are, the more protection you get from UVA rays. SPF stands for ‘Sun Protection Factor’ and the 50+ in SPF 50+ refers to the amount of protection the sun screen offers compared to unprotected skin.

SPF 50+ sunscreens are formulated to allow less damaging rays to reach your skin’s surface than lower SPF sunscreens. As such, SPF 30+ allows 3.3% of UVB rays to reach your skin while SPF 50+ only allows 2% of UVB rays to reach your skin. This may not sound like much of a difference, but it all adds up over a lifetime of UV exposure.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract

Ancient Egyptians called aloe vera the ‘plant of immortality’ as it contains numerous vitamins such as A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C and E, as well as choline and folic acid. Aloe vera’s chemical structure allows it to deeply penetrate into the skin (dermis), ensuring full absorption of vitamins and essential acids. It also stimulates the fibroblasts to generate more collagen. Natural anti-inflammatory and healing agent on cuts and burns; it regenerates the skin, soothes and heals wounds, acne, skin blemishes and so on. The plant’s leaves contain antioxidants, such as beta carotene (vitamin A), vitamin C, and vitamin E. They also contain vitamin B12 and folic acid. Saponins in the leaves also have cleansing and antiseptic properties. As a skin- conditioning agent, its amino acids also help soften hard skin and its zinc has astringent properties that tighten pores.

Grape seed oil, an exceptionally strong antioxidant that has high levels of polyphenols and tocopherols, protects your skin’s cell membrane. It is easily absorbed by the skin and promotes the absorption of moisture by the skin, especially fat-soluble vitamins.
